A better summer has arrived.

Helmet-safety brand Mips® has introduced two new moisture-wicking helmet systems to keep active people cooler outdoors: the Air Node Pro system for bike helmets, and most of the offerings in the Evolve Pro system for harness helmets.

Engineered with COOLMAX® fiber, the systems are built to wick sweat fast using specially channeled fibers that keep moisture off the face. They're an exciting innovation for avid outdoor cyclists and construction workers craving a cool and dry helmet experience.

The lightweight safety systems, available in helmets at retail now, are designed to attach to the inside of a bike or work helmet to help prevent severe head and brain injuries in the event of an accident. The added comfort of COOLMAX® fiber means wearers get the benefit of sweat-wicking on top of the security of a Mips® safety system.

Renowned for its thoughtful and innovative approach to safety, Mips® technology is found in many leading helmet brands around the world. When a rider takes a fall or a worker is hit on a job site and hits their helmet at an angle, it can cause the head to rotate suddenly and violently, which can lead to concussions and brain injuries. Mips® systems work to reduce rotational motion in the head during an impact, lowering the risk of such injuries. Learn more about Mips® helmet safety research.

"The Mips® Air Node Pro system is a natural match for highly ventilated bike helmets. It adds practically no weight or volume, and its removable pads can be detached, rinsed, and reattached with ease for cleaning after a sweaty, satisfying ride. Cool, dry, comfortable — and safe. That’s Mips® technology with COOLMAX® fiber."

HOW COOLMAX® FIBER WORKS

COOLMAX® fiber is different: It’s engineered to move moisture away from the body via special channels — think of them like gutters — to the outside of the fabric where it can dry fast. It’s not a coating or an additive, either. It’s built right into the fiber, so it’ll last the lifetime of the product. In Mips® technology, the addition of COOLMAX® fiber means cyclists and workers can focus on their mission without the distraction of sweat in their eyes.
